Traffic Tickets in Putnam
The town’s main road is New York State Route 22 (NY-22). It runs north and south through the center of town. County Route 2 is another busy road that runs through the town’s northeast section. It meets NY-22 in the hamlet of Putnam and a bit further north from the town’s northern boundary. The more rural areas in Putnam are accessible by small one lane roads that lead back to NY-22.
Putnam does not have a town police department. They receive police services from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police. Both are authorized to conduct traffic stops. The Putnam Justice Court is not busy and holds traffic court sessions only once a month. The court uses the Putnam Town Hall as its courtroom.
