Traffic Tickets in Piercefield
New York State Route 3 (NYS-3) is the only road that crosses the central portion of the Adirondack Park. It runs between Plattsburgh on the eastern side and Watertown on the western side. For the most part, NYS-3 is a two-lane highway with a 55 mile per hour speed limit. Except for the summer months, the road rarely has traffic. However, as NYS-3 goes into populated areas, the speed limit is reduced. These points often turn into speed traps for out-of-towners who may not be paying diligent attention to the speed signs. Most traffic tickets in Piercefield are of this nature.
The Piercefield Town Court (Town of Piercefield Justice Court) deals with tickets issued within the town lines. Any traffic stop in Piercefield will be conducted by either the New York State Police or the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
