Nassau is the name of a village in Rensselaer County, New York. It is located approximately fifteen miles southeast of Albany and approximately fifteen miles west of the Massachusetts state line. The village is within the Town of Nassau. It is one of two small villages in the town, the other being East Nassau. , the village of Nassau had an estimated population of 1,100.

The main road in the village is US-20 (Church Street/Albany Avenue). It goes east-west through the center of the village. Going north from US-20 in the center of the village is County Route 7 (Elm Street). Going South from US-20 in the village center is Chatham Street (NYS-203). As the roads enter the village, the speed limit is reduced from 55 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour. The town court has jurisdiction over all town cases outside of the village and the village court has jurisdiction over village cases only. Of the two courts, it is the village court that is the busier one and handles many more cases.
