Cape Vincent is a town and village in Jefferson County, New York. The village is in the town. The area is considered part of the North Country region. Cape Vincent is located along the northeastern shore of Lake Ontario, just twenty-five miles northwest of Watertown. The town covers a total area of roughly ninety square miles. It was first settled in 1801 and formed in 1849. In 1895, the hamlet of Cape Vincent incorporated itself as a village. In addition to the village, the town is home to several hamlets such as Rosierie, St. Lawrence, Sunnybank and Warren Settlement. , the town population was estimated at 2,600. This swells significantly during the summertime due to boating and other seasonal activities.

It passes through several hamlets and intersects two more roads that run northwest and southeast. Those roads are County Route 8 (CR-8), which leads to Millen Bay, and County Route 9 (CR-9), which leads to the Cedar Point State Park.
