Waverly is a large and rural town in Franklin County, New York. It is inside the Adirondack Park and is part of the state’s North Country region. Waverly makes up 126 square miles, the vast majority of which is uninhabited forestland. Waverly is one of the most remote towns in New York. The closest metropolitan area is the small city of Ogdensburg, around fifty miles west. The town is home to approximately 1,000 residents (). Almost all residents live in the northern tip of the town, in the Hamlet of St. Regis Falls.
