Rensselaer (pronounced: ren-se-lee-er) is a city in Rensselaer County, New York. It is located on the eastern bank of the Hudson River right across from Albany. The city is considered part of the Capital District region. Two vehicle bridges and one train bridge connect the cities of Albany and Rensselaer: The Patroon Island Bridge as part of Interstate 90 and the Dunn Memorial Bridge as part US-9.
