Palatine is a town in Montgomery County, New York. The population as of January of 2022, is 3,236. Palatine is roughly an hour west of Albany and is considered part of the Capital District and Mohawk Valley regions. The Mohawk River forms the southern boundary of the town. The earliest settlers were German and named the town after the name of the historical region of Germany. The town encompasses two villages, Nelliston and Palatine Bridge. The latter is the main population area of the town and the location of the town government offices.
