Morehouse is a large and rural town in Hamilton County, New York. The town covers one hundred and ninety-five square miles., there were only approximately 81 residents living in Morehouse, making it the second least populated town in New York State (Town of Red House in Cattaraugus County is first). Morehouse is in the southern part of the Adirondack Mountains around forty miles northeast of the City of Utica. Three small communities make up the town. They are the hamlets of Hoffmeister, Morehouseville, and Mountain Home.
