Mayfield is the name of a town and village in Fulton County, New York. The village is within the town. The area is known as the Mohawk Valley region. The town is just north of the City of Gloversville., the town population was approximately 6,943. Established in 1793, Mayfield was one of the first three towns formed in Fulton County. The town had a lucrative lumber and leather industry in its earlier years.
