Louisville is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York. It is located in the northwest corner of New York State. The St. Lawrence River is the western town line and also forms the border between the US and Canada. It is considered part of the North Country region. The town covers a total area of sixty-four square miles, around a quarter of which is the river. The town also encompasses several uninhabited islands in the St. Lawrence River. The town hamlets are Chase Mills, Dishaw, Louisville, Louisville Corner, and Tucker Terrace. The town was first settled around 1800. In 1810, it obtained its township status.
