Lisbon is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York. It is situated in the northwest corner of New York State. The western town line is formed by the St. Lawrence River, which is also the Canadian border. Lisbon covers a total area of one hundred and thirteen square miles, most of which is farmland. The town encompasses the hamlets of Flackville, Hague Crossing, Lisbon, Pine Grove, and Red Mills. Lisbon’s jurisdiction also extends to several islands in the St. Lawrence River, none of which are inhabited. , Lisbon’s population was estimated to be around 4,000. The town was named after the capital of Portugal.

Lisbon’s main road is New York State Route 68 (NYS-68). It runs diagonally across the southern part of town heading northwest and southeast. It passes through the hamlet of Flackville. Taking NY-68 westbound will bring you to the City of Ogdensburg and the Ogdensburg International Airport. Heading east on this road takes you to the Village of Canton. In Flackville, NY-68 intersects the town’s main north-south bound road, County Route 10 (CR-10). This road connects NY-68 to County Route 27 (Morley-Lisbon Road). CR-27 heads northwest and southeast and meets County Route 28. CR-28 runs northeast and southwest. Taking it eastbound brings you to the Hamlet of Pine Grove. Taking CR-28 west brings you to the intersection of it and New York State Route 37 (NY-37), a highway that runs along the St. Lawrence River and into the neighboring city of Ogdensburg.
The Lisbon Town Court (Town of Lisbon Justice Court) will adjudicate any tickets issued in town. Court sessions are held twice a month. There is no local police department to conduct traffic patrols.
