Lee, New York
Lee is a town in Oneida County, New York. The town was formed in 1811 and named after Revolutionary War General Charles Lee. The town is just north of the City of Rome, around forty-five miles northeast of Syracuse, and around twenty five miles northwest of Utica. The area is considered part of the Central New York region. , the population of Lee was estimated at 6,250. The town covers a total of forty-five and a half square miles. The town encompasses numerous hamlets. They are Brookfield, Hawkins Corner, Lake Delta, Lee, Lee Center, Stokes Corner, West Branch and West Lee.

Heading west on CR-53 brings you to the Delta Reservoir. Another main road is County Route 67 (CR-67), which runs north-south through the town’s western section. As it meets CR-53 it terminates. This occurs just west of West Lee. A small portion of New York State Route 69 (NYS-69) falls under the town’s jurisdiction as well. This occurs in the southwest corner of town, through the Hamlet of Lee. NYS-26 and NYS-69 both lead motorists to the neighboring south city, Rome.
