Johnstown is the name of a town in Fulton County, New York. It is located at the southern foothills of Adirondack Park and is considered part of the Mohawk Valley region. Johnstown is approximately fifty miles northwest of Albany and approximately fifty miles east of Utica. The town surrounds the City of Johnstown and the City of Gloversville. The town encompasses the hamlets of Dennies Crossing, Hale Mills, Kecks Center, Meco, Pleasant Square, Progress, Sammsonville, and West Bush. , the total town population was estimated at 6,700.
