Across the water is County Route 7 (South Shore Road). Like CR-4 it runs along the river and Reservoir. In the southeastern corner, New York State Route 9N runs north to the neighboring village of Lake Luzerne. NYS-9N is only under the town’s jurisdiction for a moment.

The Town of Hadley does not have a police department. Safety and traffic patrols are instead conducted by Troop G of the New York State Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. The authorities are asked to cite motorists who break traffic laws. A wide range of violations are issued, but the most common one is speeding. The speed limit in Hadley fluctuates between 55 and 40 miles per hour, with the latter occurring in the more residential areas. The Hadley Town Court (Hadley Justice Court) adjudicates all tickets issued in town.
