Traffic Tickets in Fine
The town’s main road is New York State Route 3 (NY-3). It is the only road in the central part of the Adirondacks that crosses the North County region. The speed limit in general is 55 mph. However, as it enters developed hamlets, towns, and villages the speed limit is reduced. The speed limit usually goes down to 30 mph. It then goes back up to 55 mph as the road leaves the settlement. Motorists that are not from the area are often ensnared by the reduced speed limits. Out-of-town motorists tend to pay more attention to the scenery than the speed signs. Most speeding tickets in this area are issued to motorists who were not speeding intentionally.

When it reaches Star Lake, it heads east out of town for a moment before returning near the hamlet of Wanakena. Another busy road in town is New York State Route 58 (NYS-58). It heads northwest and southeast through the town’s northern section. It meets NYS-3 just south of the hamlet of Fine.
