Cambridge is a town in Washington County, New York. It is around forty miles northeast of Albany. The area is considered part of the Capital District region. There is also a Village of Cambridge. The village is partially within the Town of Cambridge and partially within the neighboring Town of White Creek. The town also includes the hamlets and neighborhoods of Center Cambridge, Coila, Fly Summit, North Cambridge, Oak Hill, South Cambridge, and West Cambridge., the total town population was approximately 2,000.
Traffic Tickets in the Town of Cambridge
Cambridge’s main road is County Route 59 (CR-59). It runs north-east and south through the center of town. Taking this road north brings you to New York State Route 372 (NY-372) and the village of Cambridge. Taking it south brings you to the hamlets of Cambridge Center and South Cambridge. In the western part of town, County Route 74 traverses the town heading north and south. It passes through the hamlets of South Cambridge, West Cambridge. Fly Summit and Lee.
There are two courts in Cambridge. One is dedicated to the town, and one is dedicated to the village. The Cambridge Town Court deals with legal matters that occur outside the village. The Cambridge Village Court is the opposite, only handling issues coming from the village. The town court is located in the Hamlet of Center Cambridge, within the Town Hall building on CR-59. The village court is located within the Municipal Offices building on NY-22. Traffic stops in the town can be conducted by New York State Police and Washington County Sheriff’s Office. If a citation is written outside the village, it will be made answerable to the Cambridge Town Court. Any ticket written inside the village boundaries will be made answerable to the village court.
