Brighton is a large and rural town in Franklin County, New York. Its size is eighty-three square miles. Brighton is nestled in the Adirondack Park and most of the town is forestland. The closest city is Plattsburgh in Clinton County, around fifty miles to the east. Most town residents are located in the small hamlets of Paul Smiths and Gabriels.
