Bellmont is a town in Franklin County, New York. It is on the northern edge of Adirondack Park, around fifteen miles south of the Canadian border. The closest city is Plattsburg, around forty miles east. The size of the town is one hundred and sixty-seven square miles., Bellmont’s estimated population was 1,400. Most of the town is forestland except for the northern edge, which consists of farms and other agricultural endeavors. Most town residents live in the northern part of town, in the hamlets of Bellmont Center and Brainardsville. The southern areas of town with residential communities are the hamlets of Owl’s Head, Mountain View, and Wolf Pond.

The rest of the town is very rural and does not have road development.
