Antwerp is a large and rural town in Jefferson County, New York. It is located at the western foothills of Adirondack Park and is considered part of the North Country region. Antwerp is approximately twenty-five miles north of Watertown and approximately one hundred miles north of Syracuse. Within the town is a village, also named Antwerp. It is the main population area of the town. The Village of Antwerp Historic District encompasses 241 structures including residential houses, commercial buildings, churches, cemeteries, and a bridge. The structures were built in the mid-19th century. Antwerp is also home to the hamlets of Keense, Oxbow, Rices Corner, and Spragueville., the total population was estimated at 1,700.
